Why helping others is good for you... DM7903

The study wanted to understand, “Does social connection turn good deeds into good feelings?: On the value of putting the 'social' in pro-social spending"
Generosity of a financial donor could give more than just the money, donating to a personal quest makes the diner happier than just giving a percentage of their earnings to an anonymous charity. I guess this is why the success of Just Giving has been a successful model. Building a profile of your charitable giving, encouraging others in your social community to help you succeed.
Building up others emotionally and coming together for a cause is more powerful for humans. We connect with the idea and the cause and the humans involved and this can help us feel valued and worthy by association. Giving and receiving the gift of giving...
The report concluded, "The researchers recommend that non-profit organizations looking to maximize donations should consider recruiting grassroots advocates and focus on strengthening social connections because social connectivity is ultimately the key to increasing donations."
My idea of adding fundraising to the app is proven here that it could spread the word of your good cause and make other feel happier too.
Win / Win all round :)
