RSA - Student Design Awards launch

A really interesting presentation on two of the 8 award categories... The RSA has been supporting creative thinking for over 200 years.... the first prize was awarded for an invention that changed the use of small children to sweep chimneys, a Scandiscope tool won the prize in 1802. In 2020 the ideas surrounding this years competition is regeneration.

Speakers were from around the world, ref here to Biomimicry.org: https://toolbox.biomimicry.org/introduction/design/

Utilising natures solutions for our own problems... no such thing as an original idea!!

I liked the RSA Soil to soil example here - lovely infographic that boils the idea down to its essence.

I am not sure I will have an idea I can execute, but finding out these two areas of design and sustainability made me feel that mankind can solve its problems if it looks to the natural world.
